We Will Miss Al McKean

By | June 5, 2015

It is with great sadness that we note the passing of Al McKean, a member of FVRTC and the Field Trial community. The following was posted on the BC Retriever News web site:

Our Field Trial Community is saddened by the passing of Al McKean, on Sunday May 10, 2015. Al was actively involved in training and trialing for over 45 years and was known to be passionate in his approach to the game. His dogs were always stylish, competitive athletes – a tribute to his dedication and knowledge of dog training. He was particularly proud of his work with young dogs and offered his expertise to newcomers without hesitation. He held workshops at his home and the BCAFTC used his garage as trial headquarters for many years.
Most of the readers of this announcement will have spent precious moments seated around the table in Al and Colleen’s home drinking coffee, eating delicious treats and talking dogs. These are the times we will miss the most. A celebration of his life will be held on Sat. May 23 at 1 pm at the Meadow Gardens Golf Club, 19675 Meadow Gardens Way in Maple Ridge
